About Darren
Darren Keefe is one of the new faces of HGTV’s relaunch of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Premiering in 2020, the relaunch drew over sixteen million viewers. Keefe is seen as one of three ultra-talented team of new designers. Together with host Jesse Tyler Ferguson, the designers helped build incredible new homes for deserving families in just 5 days. Keefe is thrilled to be able to showcase his artistry to a national audience, and feels extremely gratified that he can use his craftsmanship to help change the lives of the most deserving families. Next he teams up with Nicole Curtis of HGTV’s ‘Rehab Addict’ for the new Quarantine inspired series ‘Fix My Fail’, premiering summer 2020.
Born in Northern Ireland to a long line of Irish craftsmen and farmers, Keefe first developed his love for woodworking after building a Pinewood Derby Racer with his father. Keefe comes from humble beginnings in the Midwest; as a teenager he assisted a local contractor, where he learned the basics of building – which usually involved sweeping up after the tradesman had gone home. Keefe began to develop his expertise further after he left the Midwest to pursue a career in film and television in Los Angeles, where carpentry and craftsmanship became his “means of survival.” Having worked on television series like ‘Lost’, “Sons of Anarchy’ and ‘NCIS’, Keefe also worked with a local contractor specializing in kitchen and bathroom remodels, where he found himself inspired by the design process; the layout of the room and the finishing touches.
Out of this passion, Keefe’s company Drumcree Designs was born. Much to the chagrin of his neighbors, the business started out in the front lawn of his apartment complex, but Keefe quickly moved his operation into a workshop in downtown Los Angeles. Drumcree Designs centers around Keefe’s passion for design and custom fabrication, and his craftsmanship skills range from welding to fine woodworking. Drumcree Designs clients include local businesses, interior designers and celebrities who commission one-of-a-kind, handcrafted furniture pieces.
